    N Brown Group Appoints Dene Jones As New CEO For Retail Division

    N Brown Group has named Dene Jones as the new CEO of retail, taking over from Sarah Welsh, who announced her departure from the company last year after a five-year tenure.

    Jones will assume his position on February 1, overseeing the company’s operations under the Jacamo and Simply Be brands and working on the “continued evolution of a distinct brand proposition and unique product offering” for customers of all retail brands within the group.

    He will also lead the product, trade, and marketing divisions, along with the teams focused on data analytics and data visualization.

    According to N Brown, the role’s expansion will “ensure clear accountability” for its commercial activities and performance while fostering “strong alignment” between the group’s retail and financial services sectors.

    Jones brings extensive board-level experience in marketing and data, having recently served as both the group CMO and data officer at Constellation Automotive Group, Europe’s largest digital car marketplace, which owns brands like webuyanycar.

    He has also held several senior positions at the online giant The Very Group in the past.

    Jones will be part of the N Brown executive board, reporting directly to interim chair and group CEO, Steve Johnson.

    Johnson remarked: “Dene joins us at an exciting time and brings proven expertise that will enhance clarity and strengthen accountability across our Group-wide commercial activities as we continue to evolve into an omnichannel retailer.”

    “I’d also like to express my gratitude to Sarah for her passion and commitment to the executive board over the past five years. Sarah is leaving the Retail domain on a strong footing, having improved our value proposition and the unique products we offer to our clients, and I wish her all the best moving forward.”

    In response, Jones stated: “I’m thrilled to join N Brown and look forward to collaborating with Steve and the broader team to advance the strategic transformation that will support the Group’s commercial goals. With a portfolio of distinct and inclusive brands, the group has significant growth potential, and I’m eager to lead the Retail domain.”
